Our Vortech system is a swirl-abrasive system designed by Restorative Techniques. The Vortech system is a development of the Jos system, originally developed in Germany, which gives incredible surface coating removal results while also being sensitive enough to cause no damage to the underlying substrate. The Vortech system is suitable for use on Masonry, Timber, Ironwork and other materials.
The Vortech system carries an abrasive media to the nozzle by a flow of compressed air, water is then added at this point. The mixture is then pushed through the nozzle and exits in a swirling vortex. We can utilise a wide range of abrasive media tailored to the hardness of the deposit/coating and the condition of the underlying substrate.
The Vortech system is highly effective in removing surface coatings such as but not limited to
- Paint
- Carbon Sulphation
- Lime Sulphation
- Lime Wash
- Cement
- Atmospheric Pollution
Our Vortech system can be used to clean even the most delicate of substrates thanks to its extremely controllable and sensitive pressure and granulate adjustment. Our remote pressure and granulate adjustment also allows the user to make precise adjustments at the nozzle and also aids in replicating settings.
While the Vortech system was designed with heritage works in mind, it is more than capable of being turned up and carrying out a more aggressive clean where the substrate allows and as such can be used in many other industries.
The Vortech system is primarily a wet blasting system, however the water pump can be disconnected to allow for use in dry blasting applications.
The Vortech system is an approved heritage cleaning system which coupled with our teams vast knowledge of working on Heritage Buildings, Grade Listed Buildings, Scheduled Ancient Monuments, War Memorials and modern buildings, you can rest assured that even the most complex of projects will be handled with the utmost skill and care.
