Thermatech / DOFF Cleaning

Our Thermatech system has been designed by the team at Restorative Techniques and offers superheated water up to 150°C for the purpose of masonry cleaning, paint removal and coating removal on heritage structures. The Thermatech system is highly effective in removing surface coatings, often without the use of chemicals, such as but not limited to

  • Paint
  • Graffiti
  • Algae
  • Moss
  • Dirt
  • Oil
  • Grease
  • Chewing Gum

Our bespoke self-contained Thermatech trailer enables us to get to even the most remote locations that others cannot.

Using our Thermatech vacuum recovery head, we can even undertake cleaning works indoors with the waste water and residue generated to be collected up away from the substrate.

We have also invested in the abrasive attachment for the Thermatech to allow us to remove non-temperature responsive coatings such as cement, limewash, silicate paints, carbon build up, lime efflorescence. The innovative Thermatech abrasive attachment blends hot water with an abrasive media at the nozzle to provide a gentle diffuse mixture of water, air and abrasive. We can utilise a wide range of abrasive media tailored to the hardness of the deposit/coating.

The Thermatech system is approved by English Heritage, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the National Trust, the World Monument Fund and many other reputable organisations. Coupled with our team’s vast knowledge of working on Heritage Buildings, Grade Listed Buildings, Scheduled Ancient Monuments, War Memorials and modern buildings, you can rest assured that even the most complex of projects will be handled with the utmost skill and care.
