RAM 80 were appointed by our client to carry out Thermatech / DOFF cleaning to a Grade II Listed statue of Major Francis Aglionby in Carlisle, Cumbria. The statue dates back to 1843 and is carved from Caen stone set upon a rusticated sandstone pedestal.
The statue is coated with a cream coloured limewash and was looking extremely grubby and dirty. The statue had previously been restored but was in need of further repairs.
We carried out the Thermatech / DOFF cleaning to the Caen stone Grade II Listed statue of Major Francis Aglionby in Carlisle, Cumbria using our van mounted MEWP with our IPAF trained operatives. We carried out test panels on the Caen stone Grade II Listed statue and the rusticated sandstone pedestal to ascertain the correct working temperature and pressure prior to carrying out the full cleaning to ensure no damage occurred.
Following the completion of the Thermatech / DOFF cleaning to the Caen stone Grade II Listed statue of Major Francis Aglionby in Carlisle, Cumbria, the main contractor carried out further repairs and applied fresh coats of Limewash to ensure the statue took pride of place outside the Carlisle Combined Courts of Justice.
